timing/carburetor issues 1966 f61 (2 ton)

I recently bought a 66 Ford F61 from the city street department where I live. It originally had a water tank on the back with an auxilliary engine. The water tank rusted out years ago and was replaced with a flat bed in the late 1980s. Since then, the truck has only been used once or twice per year. When I bought it, the accelerator pump on the carburetor was leaking and the truck smoked like a freight train. I rebuilt the carburetor, replaced the points, plugs, rotor button and distributor cap. The diaphragm was also busted in the fuel pump, replaced pump. At that point ran it ran fine. Push-rod replacement (2 bent) stopped the smoking. Now, engine stumbles under load and higher rpms. Dwell is (29.6) and timing is set to 6 degrees and 550 rpm idle. Have adjusted carburetor float every which way with no major change. Any ideas? It has 330 cu. in. engine. Thanks in advance; I think I may have been on the wrong forum before. Several good suggestions were given, and I appreciate their time, but nothing has worked so far (feels like I'm chasing a ghost).

Hows the air filter looking? Is the advance working on the distributor? What your vacuum looking like? Does it start easy? Does it have the dristributor with the governor built in? Maybe something went wrong in there..

Do the "ole fuel pump flow" measurement. This requires you disconnect the fuel line to the carb, put a hose on it, and run it to a bucket. Crank the engine over and see how much fuel winds up in the bucket during "X" number of seconds of cranking. How much is supposed to be there I don't know, but you might want to ask this in the FE/FT forum. The 330 is an FT engine.

I suspect the pickup in the tank is clogged, and you're not getting enough fuel flow. Either that, or a fuel line between the tank and the pump is letting air into the line and the pump is sucking too much air.

Thanks

Thanks to all who took the time to respond and offer help. Installation of electronic ignition and a hotter coil seems to have done the trick. I have used it all weekend, seems fine. Thanks again.
