Power Steering Question Your opinions?

Hey guys question time. Steering started acting up on my truck. when i turn the steering wheel will not straighten on its own. it is not hard, stiff or overly loose. anyone with prior experience with this problem in an obs ford would be helpful.

Could be a few things. First thing with that problem is to check the ball joints. They get stiff and seize up and will give you that problem. Could be a hydraulic problem, but I find 3/4 times you are looking at joint of some time...

Thats what I was thinkin. That or a u joint. Neither one is going to be fun to do though. Almost wish it was the pump.

Yeah, pump would be better...

U joint could do it too, but usually that will bounce your steering around more then just be stiff.

Yeah but I would do both since I have to get by the u joint at the same time. Funny thing is is it is just fine now Dave. Hoping it was just a fluke.

Could be! That'd be okay too. Time will tell.
