COE people title help
Coe guys how do you registered your coeS?
I DO NOT have a title for my coe but I do have the vin plate that was in the firewall.
I have AAA so I could ask them if they could help me get a title I also have a buddy who works at a towing company I could ask him to help me get a lean sale at least.
Or I could try to go to the DMV and deal with them.
I am going the Pick Up route not the car hauler.
It will be sitting on a 1980 3/4 chevy chassis.
Thannks a lot

Seth, the process varies state to state......there was a thread awhile back with a link to the SEMA site???
Maybe a Cal. member has some tips? Call AAA and ask, it can't hurt.
I am in the process of getting a title right now.....got the vin inspected on Saturday.....
TRy this

I went with the California DMV route when I registered my frame. I purchased a frame with a rear end to replace an axle that I snapped on my 56. 25 plus years later I decide to build my truck in this frame. Of course I had no paperwork at all on the frame. I got a peace officer to sign off on the VIN number and I did a statement of facts stating that I had the frame in my possession for 25 years but lost the paperwork. It took numerous trips to the DMV to get it through, but within a couple of weeks I had title and plates. The toughest part for me was obtaining a weigh ticket. Because it is a truck, California requires a weigh ticket from a public scale. Since this was only a frame and I had already taken apart my other truck it was a bit of a challenge. I eventually got a weigh ticket (I won’t say how) and was able to get title.

If you buy an out of state truck do they require a vin check/verification in California? Utah does.
I have titled a couple trucks using the (duplicate title form) where the owner has lost title and the dmv looks up (verifys their name and vehicle) then will issue a duplicate/replacement title.
I have also gone the "insuficient evidence" route as as well where you have the vin inspected and fill out a couple forms as to how, you acquired the truck etc, include some pictures of it and your done.
