Thank you for your reply and you're right I'm sorry I have a 360 5.9 liter with a two barrel Motorcraft carburetor on it I just put a new fuel pump on and adjusted my carburetor also cleaned my points my truck only seems to be having this problem when it's really hot outside I haven't changed the fuel filter yet

Need more details. Does it do it while accelerating? Braking? Uphill? Downhill? While idling or under load? How hot is "really hot"? Did you replace the fuel pump and adjust the carb before or after the problems started? What did your carb adjustment consist of? Change your fuel filter and note if the fuel looks clean or dirty. Does your fuel line have any leaks?
If it does it when hot it may be a vapor lock problem, how is your fuel line routed over the engine or near the exhaust? Is it steel or rubber line? How old are the rubber parts?
Lots of questions, but LOTS of variables.

If it "cuts out" by stuttering a little and dying, kind of like when you first start running out of gas, then it is likely a fuel delivery problem.
