Hi i have a 2000 expy 4.6 with 144000miles on it.
does anyone know how to change the oil sending unit gasket?
it has been leaking for a while but this morning when i started my expy i noticed oil just gushing out between the engine and the oil sending unit.

It's not a hard job. The gasket will run about $20.00 from Ford and it is just a matter of unbolting the adaptor from the block after draining the coolant as both go through the adaptor plate. This is a good time to change the oil, filter and coolant.
This info is for the 4X4 trucks.

Today i finished the repair on the oil filter mounting gasket, the whole repair took 4 hours it was pretty simple.

How do i get all of the air out of the cooling system? i had my expy sitting on an incline and had it running for about 35minutes but the upper radiator hose feels kind of soft is this normal? the gauge shows normal and the heat blows really hot.

thank you

If the heat is good front and rear you should be good to go. Just keep a watch on the res. for a few days and top it off if needed.
