Pedal-Car Effie?

Hi everybody, I am wanting to build a pedal car effie truck. However, I have never even seen one. Has anybody come across a source that sells these as projects? IE: One that needs refurbishing like new paint, wheels, etc. Thanks, Jag

Speedway sells parts for and kits to build your own pedal car. However, none are Effie trucks.

Pedal Cars & Parts - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop

I've always wanted a Panel truck pedal car, but none are existent. There's an Airflow pedal car, but majority of them are pushing $1k.

Sy at midfifty.com has a fiberglass body, scaled down... it's really about golf cart size... but you can make a larger pedal car !! might be worth a look

Mid Fifty F-100 Parts - Grille, Golf Cart, 56, Plain

then choose the 'catalog page' tab

or search for golf cart on their page

I saved this from the internet and always thought it would be cool to have. No idea where he would have acquired it but I'd like one too.

There was a guy who use to bring them to the supernationals every year to sell, had the panel and the pickup. They were fiberglass.

I just changed a background pic I had of those two! It was taken from the right side and the little one was on a trailer. Too bad I can't remember where I found it and don't save the pics, just use them for some time and then change.

Found this on ebay

That EBay body is great, but it's bigger than what I had in mind. I'm surprised that the pedal car companies don't have these effie bodies. I have a "sad face" police car that looks like the old fifties Hudson. If anybody comes across a source for the body or even parts, please let me know. I checked with Speedway, but they are fairly limited in their parts inventory. Thanks, Jag

You need to check Speedway's "museum of american speed" not their parts store. The museum is a completely separate endeavor, a 3 story building dedicated to housing an amazing collection of automotive memorabilia collected by Bill Smith. www.museumofamericanspeed.com
Part of the items on display are more than 100 of the most incredible pedal cars I've ever seen such as this:

Yes, it's a pedal car!

NICE! The closest thing that we have around here is a restaurant down off the 5 in Kettleman City. They probably have 20 hanging on the walls, but they're not for sale. Jag

I'd bet that many of the pedal cars in Bill Smith's museum are worth more than a lot of full sized cars.
