Aside from the reverse light, the C6 doesn't have any electrical connections.

there is a black electrical connection in the area of the kickdown/shifter connection, and another smaller connection, all that for a backup light or are they not involved with the tranny?
If so I am looking for a C6 from any 4x4 small block from 1997 back to the 60's???? CORRECT?

The electrical connection is only for the neutral safety switch and the backup lights, thete are no electrics involved with the trans itself. You just have the shift lever, the kickdown lever and the manifold vacuum pipe to the vacuum modulator on the trans.
You need to find a 4x4 trans with the small block bolt pattern, as already described and after 1977. After 1977 will ensure that your transfer case will bolt up and that it will not have the asbestos clutches and will also enable the NSS to fit. Maybe even narrow it down to 1980 to 1996.
