i got a 86 f250 4x4 with a 4speed.can i put a c6 on this if i have one from a c6 4x4?

yes you can. fairly easy swap. just make sure the C-6 has the proper bell-housing bolt pattern for your motor.
300, 302, and 351W use the same bell, 351M, 400, 429, and 460 use the same, and the 6.9 and 7.3 diesels use their own special bolt pattern.

 

yes on the tranny i'm building a new one for it i was just wondering if the c6 adapter would bolt in where the 4 speed was.it looked the same but did'nt know for sure

So are you asling if your tcase wwill bolt to the back of a 4x4 C6?

Yes it will.
