300-6 EFi fuel leak

Hello,
I have a 96 E-150 with a 300-6 EFI. It is leaking fuel like crazy from the passenger side just under the front Y of the exhaust manifold. It appears to be coming from a cylinder shaped object the is about two inches high, and two inches in diameter. I am unfmailiar with fuel injection as this is the first vehicle that I have had with it. It looks very tough to get at this part.
Does anyone know what this part is called? Also, am I going to have to take the exhaust manifold off to replace it? The fuel lines around it are not leaking, but this part shoots fuel like a small faucet..
The truck has 200k plus on it, so it is a job I will have to do myself. I can't afford to take it to a shop. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the fuel pressure regulator. Go to an online parts site and look it up and see if the picture matches the part. The regulator runs about $90 or so. You may find it cheaper by searching online.

You aren't talking about the black box by the battery, with the vaccum lines going to it are you? if so I bet bad fuel pump. does it do it all the time, or only when you run on a certain tank?
