Mystery tubes

I am getting my plow truck (1997 F250) ready for the winter season and noticed something hanging below. Checking it out I discovered 2 tubes, one blue and one pink. I know a little about vehicle repair but not enough to figure out where these two guys are supposed to be connected. I traced the two back to the top of the engine compartment next to the firewall behind the battery. I've included a few pictures. Any help including pictures of where they should be connected would be of great help.

They are definitely hollow and flexible and the end has a knobby (not sure of the technical term) on it that looks like it fits over a flared metal tube. I'm 99% sure they are not wires.

It was a long day when I wrote the original post. It is a 1997 F250, 4WD, extended cab, short bed, 8cyl.

Looks like vacuum lines then. Do all of your vacuum controlled doodads work?

Vacuum control doodads? Remember I am not an expert mechanic. I know a little about vehicle repair. I just changed a starter on my future son-in-laws car tonight and that is about the best you get from me. A doodads definition would be great. )

Well i'm not sure what all on these trucks is vacuum controlled. Does your cruise control work? Do all the heating/cooling controls including the flap that changes from cool to heat work?

You might stick your finger over the end of the tubes with the truck running and see if they're sucking air, if they are then they're vacuum tubes, if they aren't they might still be vacuum tubes and that's not the end they suck from. But if they were sucking at least you'd know.

Has your idle speed increased at all?
