wiring delco tank selector valve

I'm pretty much rebuilding the entire fuel system right now and I've hit a BIG snag. when I got the old(original) selector valve dismounted and looked at the wiring it's all different colors but no labels. On my new AC Delco valve all the wires are black but they are labeled A-F. Anybody out there know which letter corresponds to what color? I thought about using the old wiring but the connections are different, original is blades, new one-pins
By the way, when I dismounted the front tank all that was left of the pickup was a handful of plastic chunks and a round wire screen.

probably just the same as the valve i used.try doing this:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...el-gauges.html

Yellow/Blue Stripe = A
Yellow/White Stripe = B
Blue/White Stripe = C
Red = D
Black/White Stripe = E
None = F

hahaha.she crumbled right apart on ya uh.
when i first got my truck,i thought someone swapped in a frame rail mounted e-pump because it was buzzing.

if you have different colors than posted there,and don't want to get out the meter.then just follow my next tip;

just cut off your stock connector,then look at it.notice the blank spot in the connector(where there is no wire to connect.)
well,right next to this side(the first wire next to it) is your "E".then follow your stock colors on your connector,over.so your next color beside "E" will be your "D" then c,b,a as you go across to the other side.
so when you cut your stock connector off,leave enough tails on your wires to be able to see each color so you can match it up.
this will make sense when your doing it.very simple really this way.

Fuel Selector Valve

I am trying to find the right fuel selector valve for my daughters truck. The truck is three states away so I can't climb under it and look. It is a 1975 F-250 with dual tanks. When I looked up the Ford number on line I found a BMD valve that costs $88 and seems to have a connection for the wiring. The valve listed in LMC part number 47-0917 at $49 and looks much simpler and seems to have only one wire connection. And I also found a similar valve to the LMC which is a BMD FSV1Z at $38.

Will the LMC valve work and replace the original on the truck and is one valve so much better as to be twice the price.

Thanks
