will a Np435 out of a 1970 F500 work on my 1978 F600 dump truck ??? From what I can tell from vin. the F500 has a 330 M/D engine ....my dump has a 330 H/D engine .....with split rear .... the F500 does not have the split rear .... are the bell housings the same on the two????? input shafts ....any help will be greatly appreciated ....

 

forgot to mention that my dump also has a NP435 in it also

 

If they are both the same tranny it shouldn't be a problem. How much is a np435 w pto worth?

 

I'm giving $100.00 for this one I have to pull it ....

 

make sure both trucks have the same size input shaft/spline count on the trasmissions input shaft.

 

Is that all I have to watch for ??? Input shaft length and diameter?

 

the case for NP435 should be the same for all NP435s. I know the one in my 77F-150 has a quite small input shaft than the large trucks.

 

all F600-500 had the same size shaft , i think they were 1.5" with 10 splines ? i got one of those NP435 sitting out back that came out of some old F600 with a 330 in it !

 

Got the transmmission pulled from the donor truck F500 ,then pulled bad trans. from F600 and then installed donor ....
donor trans. works great ....I can use granny gear now where before I didn't use it because I figured it had some broken teeth on reverse/1st gear ....now my truck drives better then it ever has since I've owned it....
figured out what was wrong with the original trans........ can anyone say hand grenade ???? bout a third of the teeth were chewed up......

 

those trannies were never built for the torque and weight that a F500-600 will pull !
