transfer case output shaft seal

I'm trying to replace the output shaft seal on a the transfer case of a 94 Bronco. (electric shift). Getting the drive shaft off was easy enough. There is a lock nut that the factory manual says is 30mm. My 30mm does not fit, and a 32 mm socket is too large in diameter to fit down around the wrench. What size is it really? I'm think I'll try getting a 1-1.4 socket tomorrow.

Are any other special tools required to remove the output seal?

The 1-1/4 socket was a perfect fit (non air tool). Took a little bit to get the old seal out. Everything is back together again.
