1995 F250 2wd: Wanting to go with 17" Rims???
I have tons of used 265/70/R17 tires and they are so cheap used right now.
I have a 1995 F250 HD model its a 2wd.
I see you can get lots of 17" 8x6.5 wheels for pretty cheap around $110 each
Has anyone done this with 17's yet?
The tire calculator says the 265/70/R17's are just 1/10th of an inch taller then the stock 245/75/R16's.
Has anyone done this or foresee any problems?

So you're going to spend around $600 to upgrade to larger wheels (price includes mounting, the cost for the set of used tires not included) so you can save money on used tires? Unless you can get the mounting and balancing for free, I don't see how this makes any sense. How many tires do you go through on your truck?
For that kind of money ($600 + cost of used tires), you can get a high-quality set of Michelin LT245/75R16s that will have an 60K mile warranty on them, and they are offering a $70 rebate now as well. Assuming that your alignment is good, you should be able to get 5-10 years out of those and have lifetime balancing/rotation and road hazard and mileage warranty to boot.
This is the Michelin tire I am talking about (Michelin LTX M/S): http://tirecrawler.com/shop/detail_t...roduct_id=6755 Very highly rated tires, you will hardly see a bad thing written about them in online tire reviews.
Believe me, I'm with you as far as trying to save money, but as somebody who has recently spent half a ton of money on used tires and then a ton more getting them mounted and balanced on a bunch of my vehicles, just to find that i have some flaky tires that don't run smooth and I will now have to pay full price to replace them since I didn't get them new, I am trying to steer you away from going the cheap route that in most cases isn't.
The free balancing/rotation and road hazard warranty on new tires are nice to have, and will save you cold hard cash if you have any tire issues later.
My $.02, FWIW

Check out this Ebay link:17 inch Incubus krawler black wheels rims 8x6.5 8 LUG | eBay
4 Incubis 17"s $475.00 and free shipping.
Yeah I have 3 tire machines and a balancer at my house. My friend collects tires for all the local shops and sends them down to the coast for shredding.
I have 14 BF Goodrich Rugged Trails 265/70/R17's LR:E all around 8/32nd's
On Craigs list and other local websites these 265/17's seem to have no value they range in price from $100-$200 a set all day long. I try to sell them but no one wants them. Everyone has them listed so damn cheap.
Stock Tire: 245/75/R16 235/85/R16
sidewall 7.2" sidewall: 7.9"
New Tire 265/70/R17
side wall 7.3"
The tread in width from a 245/16 to a 265/17 is 10" to 10.7"
so 7/10th's of an inch wider.

I am going to be putting 265/70/17's with stock dodge rims on my f250 4x4 as soon as i get some time. They are cheap and plentiful as you mentioned and you can get manual tire changers for cheap if changeover cost is a factor. I have an old cotes machine so its free and easy for me.
Tires smaller than 17 for trucks are becoming a thing of the past so you will probably be upgrading in the near future anyway.

Yes for sure man.
I have a couple sets of 8 lug 16'' just steel wheels for sale but forget it no one wants them for even $60 bucks a set. Ford changed after 1997 to 8x170mm. Dodge went to bigger brakes/rims with the new body style after 2002 I think. Chevy quit the 16's in 2006.
On chevy's the 5 spoke aluminum 16" 88-98 with smooth center cap wont even fit on the 1999 and up chevy the aluminum is too thick.
17"s are the new thing. I wish though 16's were still in.
I had 28 BFG Commercial Ta's 50% tread or more. Took about 6 months to sell on like craigs list now people are having a hard time finding cheap 245's 265's and 285's for decent used prices.

I put American Eagle Series 185's on my F350 and they looked sharp, even when it was on its roof. I want to find a set of classic looking 17's for my F250, just for looks but all the rims in 8x6.5 have a diesel look to them. The amount of new take-offs for 17s are ridiculous and cheap too
