Thanks! Well it is my grandpa's that has been sitting in pasture for about 3 years. It has a 5.8L V8 and a stock tranny. Other than that I do not know much about the truck other than there have been no modifications made to it.

Welcome to the forum

There should be a vehicle sticker on the driver's side door jamb that will have info regarding the transmission, axles, and springs. The axle and tranny will have a code that you can look up or post it and some one will know.

Regards

Either the shift linkage (external or internal) is disconnected or the forward clutch has welded itself together.

Heres an easy one. Does it have Overdrive? Only 2 auto tranny options that year in F250's.

P R N D 2 1 - C6

P R N (D) 2 1 - E4OD (and will have an OD cancel switch on the right side of steering column on the dash)
