It looks great guys, I have a ton of questions. what year Crown Vic did you use? What are you putting in it for a motor? What are the plans for the steering this was causing me some issues during my mock up. Great work and keep the pictures and info coming.
Merry Christmas
Thanks guys........'03 and up CV should all be the same, I believe this is an '03 front end. We have installed a 460 Ford motor, what else?? The steering is giving us a little problem because of the headers and the narrowing of the frame. I will try and get some pictures this week.............
I thought this was kinda cool...........The roof was pretty well peppered with rot so we made a "buck" out of it, then made a mold and next made a new roof from fiberglass. Came out pretty good.....
The front end just looks different then the ones i've seen on the 03-07... They bolt flat on the top of the frame where as this one you have pictured does not, instead it looks like it has two brackets that are welded to the frame and bolt to the sides of the front end.. I've been looking around and it appears it may be the 08 and up crown vic front end. I was just curious because it looks cleaner then the other style. I wonder if its the same width as the 03-07 If so I'd like to find one of them instead lol btw that truck frame is what I dream mine would look like.. That thing is pretty, y'all are doing some great work

The front end is from a 2004 CV. We replaced the stock Ford mounts. Instead of mounting the crossmember to the frame with long bolts like the factory did, we bolted it from the bottom for a cleaner look.
Looks great, I keep checking this out and seeing what changes I could make to mine. Such as the engine mounts, steering and lower A arm mounts. Keep the pictures and info coming this swap is gaining a lot of interest
Just wanted to let you know that isn't a 8" rear. That's the 8.8".
The 8" is a smaller version of the 9" with the drop out center section.
Very right FordMan, we usually work with the Ford nine inch but the owner wanted rear discs. There is a guy nearby that builds rears for the Mustang crowd and he did this one, all we did was narrow it a little.
We are building this truck at our non-automotive shop. The owner of our company owns the truck and is doing most of the construction on it, My brother and I built the frame and rolling chassis.
Curiosity question: Since it required so much complex work to install, narrowed frame, crossmember, rack, etc., and it is not notable for handling geometry, what was the compelling reason for using the CV IFS?

Best reason in the world..........my boss paid me to do it!
Any progress on the truck? I'm sure 100's of people here that are interested in the CV suspension, but like the width of it would love to see a step by step w/pics of narrowing the steering rack. I am/was considering narrowing the crossmember to match the pivots on a Fox/sn95 rack but that's 6"
