'56 Frame Build with Crown Vic front end
Hi folks........I usually hang around on the "Slick" side of town but I thought some of you might be interested in our build.
It is a 1956 F100. The frame was beat so we decided to build a new one........... http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6012.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6013.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6014.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6015.jpg |
It's got an 8 inch rear...........
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6016.jpg Front end had four inches taken out of the track........ http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6017.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6019.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6020.jpg http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...z/100_6011.jpg |
We copied the stock frame except for the four inch narrowing front and rear,,

Nice! Beautiful work! I keep a compilation of most Crown Vic related posts and will add this too it. For the file how many hours, and if you don’t mind, how many dollars did it take to build the frame? Very nice, thanks for posting.

Thanks for the comments.............We are building this in between our "regular" work so I really don't have an actual time line. I'm not paying for it(thank God)........
by the way, the motor is a 460 with aluminum heads. |
beautifull work, looks amasing!!!so is this the alluminum crown vic clip that you used? you sectioned the front end in the middle, how hard was it then to re-mount the rack and the sway bar??
|
VERY nice! If the chassis isn't enough, the tube bending is also a work of art.
|
Very nice work.

every time i look at this post makes me want to trash my frame and start over from scratch!!

Yes it is aluminum. We had to section the rack also...........and relocate the sway bar mounts, check the pictures again, you can see the mount we built on the side of the frame. |
I thought this was kinda cool...........The roof was pretty well peppered with rot so we made a "buck" out of it, then made a mold and next made a new roof from fiberglass. Came out pretty good.....

Two things about your build Tom.
Can you give some detail on how you narrowed the Crown Vic front end? What power rack are you using? I hope this isn't confidential. If so, can you send me your e-mail address in a PM? Greg |
Wow...makes me wanna hide...would love to put my 460 and panel on that and scrap the MII...very nice!
|
It looks great guys, I have a ton of questions. what year Crown Vic did you use? What are you putting in it for a motor? What are the plans for the steering this was causing me some issues during my mock up. Great work and keep the pictures and info coming.
Merry Christmas |
