So he has a bleeding butt..... better than them being impacted. Our dog Buddy had them so impacted that the emergency vet (this was on Christmas Day a few years ago) had to dope him up with some moriphene and then was able to 'express' them. They also put in a drainage tube that had to come out after a week or so.

 

The scary part is that his wife handed me the lighter...

 

I'll just be glad when I can stop going around spot cleaning the carpets, he has left little turd spots everywhere!

Howdy Pat! Sorry to hear about the pooch, but at least it sounds like he'll be back to normal fairly soon. I've heard of that problem in some breeds, usually the smaller dogs, but never in a collie.

 

Our schnauzer has them clogged every once in a while, you can tell when she gets like jumpy and looks at her butt!
