That will be a HOT air intake since it is pulling HOT air from under the hood...

Just as White 97xlt put it. Unless you can place an air tube in an area that is consistently cooler than the ambient air under the hood, you have really only skinnied your wallet. I just posted on another topic about CAI's, and you would be better off finding a used snorkel from either a 300, I6 or a 460, V8. Either one of these will do.

I think it was Lee that proved the temps in the air box area are the same as out side the engine compartment when the vehicle was traveling. Hot air / cold air blah blah blah. Hot air is better for MPG anyways.

Are you looking to make dyno pulls with this truck or drive it? Id be more concerned with the quality of the filter itself (micron rating).

At idle it is yes. Once the truck is moving the "warm air" in that area is same as outside the truck.

Get a splitter from a MAF truck then run single tube to good location with a big(10-12") open filter.

Believe it or not alot of lightning guys actually got the best results with a filter clamped directly to the TB.

I run a 3" tube next to the radiator with a 11" filter.

NIce pic... This set up never gets wet ? looks a lil close to the open part of that inner fender wall. Could just be the pic angle...
