Brake loght

Seems my brake light only comes on if the pedal is pushed down very far. (Stock 6 volt, positive ground). Is there an adjustment?
Thanks, Brian

Crawl under your truck and look at the brake light switch that screws into the back of your master cylinder. It will have 2 wires attached to the back of it. It sounds like yours is going bad. You can probably get a new one at Napa etc.

Mid-fifty sells a low pressure brake light switch which turns the brake light on with less pedal pressure. The catalog I get is for 53-56, so I don;t know if they fit the 48-52 trucks just callem and ask...

Ha! I just noticed how I spelled light! I really should read before hitting enter!
Mt.Doc, I changed it and no difference...abe, I will try that, thanks for the suggestions.
With only one brake light I would like it to come on as soon as possible.

how far ARE you pushing pedal? it may be that master needs adjustment, or maybe even brakes need adjusting. are internals of master in fairly good condition? she may need a rebuild. or even a good bleeding.
