Were any of the defrost deflectors chromed on these trucks. I've only ever seen chrome ones in redone trucks. I assume they were painted originally. Maybe just chromed in Custom Cabs?

I would think that they came in paint only from the factory. They were likely chromed by those who like bling, lol. But if there was chrome ones I think it would have been on a Mercury as there seemed to be a lot more chrome on them.

I have 3 deflectors and all off them were/are painted so it's a fair bet they came that way, at least in 1954.

Before you go crazy and chrome it, a friend of mine chromed his on his '55 and the glare when driving is horrible. Probably the reason they weren't chromed at the factory.

Also the reason they got away from chromed rearview mirrors.

My truck is pretty plain - so it will not be chromed. I was just wondering if any originally were. Thanks guys.

No chrome deflectors on mine all painted black. Never seen a chrome one before. Probably owners preference to get it chromed.
