2003 F250 Rear axle question

First let me say hello to everyone I am new here just picked up my truck the other day for a great price with a few issues that need attention nothing major just small stuff. I searched the Forums for this question and unless its buried in a thread somewhere it is non-existent.

On the rear axle there are two ports between the driver's side rear wheel and the differential my questions are as follows: The thicker tube is the vacuum line correct? If this is disconnected there is a good chance that is where I lose vacuum pressure right? Well the line is about 6 inches too short if I put a male/male connector and an extra 8inches or so of hose to reach and have slack would the restriction of the connector effect the system negatively? Also could this be why when I put it in 4H the rear only spins one tire and the fronts don't lock automatically? Or is the rear separated from the front, and I have more than one problem?

Also where can I find a place to create a signature for this forum? So I don't have to write everything the truck has done to it every time because I have a feeling a few of you will want to know that info in order to answer these questions.

2003 F250 7.3L Extended cab short bed FX4... 8"fabtec + 4"blocks, 38" tires on 20inch rims, dual stacks, DP chip (I think), Brake booster, Volant CAI, AutoPage Alarm... And more.

The thicker line is not a vacume line it is a breather hose for the rear diff it is not supposed to be connected to anything just clipped up be the frame so water cant get in. The other line is the brake line. If you are losing vacume first check the vacume lines that go to each front hub and then work your way back from there.

Only 2 wheels total will spin in 4wd unless you have limited slip diff and if the front won't lock from inside it should when you turn the dials clockwise. The wheels will only pull equally until one breaks loose. The front and rear are connected in 4wd.
