Auto Trans Question
I got a 1997 F-350, former Verizon truck. It is an F-Super Duty model. I'm looking for a used automatic transmission but not sure what I'm looking for. The truck has a trans code of "E" on the vin tag. The trans has the emergency brake on the tail section.
Is this a E4OD trans and what years do I look for that are compatible?
Is the emergency brake something that I just swap over if the other trans does not have?
TIA for the help.

if its an f super duty then it is indeed not an f350. an f super duty is equivalent to an f450. a 1997 f super duty would use an e4od. the parking brake on the rear is equivalent to a transfer case as far as mounting is concerned. so what you need is a 4x4 e4od and you just bolt the driveline brake on just as you would a transfer case. make sure you get a diesel version of the transmission though as a 460 version uses a different bellhousing
