Well a good welcome to You! The site has a special spot for you with the older classics down below. Should be a lot more help down there.

Checkout Bob's FatFenderedTruck website. The F-1 thru F-6 cabs all interchange. If you look on Ebay and/or local Craigslist, you should be able to find some F-1 cabs in good condition that can be swapped onto your truck.

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much. I was not sure if all of the series were interchangeable. I will check out your recommendations.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Actually F1-F8 cabs interchange. Just stay away from the COE cabs. The front lower portion of the cabs are different than the conventional cabs.

You should be able to pick up a complete F4-F8 truck failry cheap as they're not as much in demand. Most will have decent cabs becasue they've been left sitting and unusued for many years.

I want to know if you really are five girls restoring an old truck? Photos? Of you and the truck, of course.

I bought the truck from the original owners. in 1949, they bought the truck and had a body (from the firewall back) fabricated at a ship yard to use as a produce truck. I am restoring it into a pick up.

Sounds like an interesting conversion. Please post pictures. We'd love to see this "oddity".

It might be more interesting to restore it back to the altered form, it all depends if it was a hack job or not.
