COMPUTER RESETS

looking for some answers on 1997 ford powerstroke!!!!!!
While driving the truck dies like you shut the key off check engine light and wait to start light comes on .sometimes it starts right back up sometimes the wait to start light will just flicker and truck wont start. truck is got a superchip intercooler and 4" exhaust,but no major mods. It fills like the computer resets itself ,PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Sounds like the chip isn't making good contact with the circuit board in the PCM. If that's the problem, you better fix it before it cooks the chip AND the PCM.

Sounds like a loose chip to me too, but isnt the superchips just a program, not a chip? Have you pulled the code? If its P0605 thats normally the code with a loose chip.

I assumed a chip. Superchips made chips and programmers.

Thanks for the info. I took my computer out cleaned it and the chip ,drove it for about an hour and it worked fine. I started it the next morning headed to work and did the samething just not as bad. Do you think that the fuel bowl heater is grounding out ???????????

I think when the fuel bowl heater grounds out it blows a fuse

Did you tape the chip in? Was it loose at all?

The chip is taped in, no it wasnt loose need to pull codes sometime check engine light stays on for a couple of mins, sometime it turn my radio off at the same time is my computer just freaking out or what???????????
