do I need new injectors 167000 302 efi 1991

I have a ford f150 with a 302. I noticed that if I start the truck run it for a minute then shut it off like 2 spark plugs would be covered in gas. I noticed this moving the truck around to change the spark plugs. but the plugs were all fine and never missed. also occasional I get a shudder in the motor at light throttle and I think injectors are to blame. what do you guys think. also were should I get 8 injectors any good buys

That sounds like the injectors are to blame to me too. You can get refurbished ones on Ebay for 75-100 bucks if I remember right. Another option is to get the Ford Racing ones for a fox body Mustang. That is what I did. They are about 200 bucks for the set of 8.

The First rule of diagnostics on an EFI engine is pull the codes, don't be making a wild *** guess it'll just costs you more money in the end. First see what the little engine brain has to say and then start eliminating possibilities based on that info and starting with the simplest things and working up to the major components. Even if you get nothing but the all clear code(11) that's something as it usually eliminates all the sensors and wiring as possibilities. On a vehicle this old all the vacuum lines are brittle and crack easily and a vacuum leak will produce a stumble on throttle tip-in. Another possibility is low fuel pressure from a dirty filter or malfunctioning check valve, a partially stuck open EGR valve, or a gasket leak on the EGR or upper intake. A dead spot in the TPS sensor would also do it but that should register a code. Your truck could also have dirty injectors but it's more common for them to stick open which won't result in a stumble just bad fuel milage, but in general these injectors seem to last an incredibly long time so they should be well down the list.

I agree with that recommendation. Pull the codes before buying any parts.

My truck's original injectors were bad at 130k miles. They would leak fuel into the engine and flood it out so it was hard to start. That could have been because of poor maintanance though.

The Ford Racing injectors I have now have about 150k on them, and all is good.
