Brake pedal trade

Would any of you guys be interested in trading my power brake pedal for your manual brake pedal?

79 F250 4wd but Im pretty sure as long as the pedal is from another 79 it will be the same.

I know a guy who might. I sent him home with a '73 power brake pedal today but no clue if it will be "right" or not. I'll email him this thread...

Thank you Chase.

@ alpha/omega I have a 79 f100 that has manual brakes, and I want to conver it to power brakes. I'm willing to trade you the pedal. Where are you located? Will you be selling the brake booster and master cylinder? Please let me know. Thank you

Wait, theres a difference? When I converted over to power all I did was bolt on the boosters brackets and hook the booster to my old 76 brake pedal. Also just wondering Alpha/Omega why in the heck would you want unpowered brakes?

I didn't know if there was a difference or not. I didn't think so, but then again I've seen NumberDummy go off that there are 312 different pedals, etc. before.

In all honsety, and as it seems you have found they are probably close enough to work either way, but I figured after talking to Jose today and then all of a sudden seeing this post it would just work out for these guys

When I went from the 250 booster/mc to a 350 booster/mc nothing changed. Now that I bolted the 79 f150 manual mc on the rod is about 1/2" too long and the rod end is different. There is a difference in them as Ive seen pedals stamped "pwr" and "man" but I think its hit or miss where some apps will work or not.

The last engine didnt make enough vacuum to run power brakes and this new one will probably make even less. I thought about an electric vacuum pump or hydroboost but its not really worth the weight/effort/cost.

I dont know about the trucks, but on Ford cars, the distance from the pedal pivot and the master cyl rod hole is shorter on a manual brake pedal, to give a better ratio.

Sounds good...Im in SC. I will also be selling the F350 booster and MC if youre interested. Its 2 years old but only has straight line mud drag passes (maybe 20-25) on it and maybe 10 miles of street driven time.

How about $75 (half price of new - core charge)and Ill send the booster to firewall brackets as well.
