Asking price / what

I'm looking at a 1990 F150 XLT Lariet pickup with a straight 8 engine, tire have apx 4,000 miles left on tread, boby is in fair condition, needs new windshield, uses 1 qt oil in between oil changes (4,000 miles), a slow teak in the A/C must have recharged 2 times each summer. Has a rebuild staight 8 engine, he does not know when it was put in the pickup. He has had the truck for apx 4 years. Pickup has apx 115,00 miles on it. A tear in the seat. Red paint, garrage kept so no fading to the color. Automatic trans. The gentlemen is asking $2,750.00. He needs to sell the pickup, do to his parkens disease and is unable to drive it anymore. I know the gentlemen, very honest and just a good guy. What do you'll think a fair price (or good price) would be for a buyer like myself. I'll drive it for while until I get my 65 F100 fixed up, maybe a year or two at the most. I do not want to loose a bunch of money when it comes time to sell the pickup. Thanks Kevin

Straight 8's haven't existed in vehicles for a number of years. These trucks came with either a straight 6 or V8.

Is the truck 2wd or 4wd? This would have the biggest impact on value aside from general condition. It sounds nice, but a 4wd will be worth much more.

Just my .02 cents worth. Will need tires very soon, body in fair?? condition, Needs a windshield, using 1 qt of oil per OCI, very unusual for a reman I6 and I am questioning the 115K miles because this engine is capable of 4x the mileage. Odometers on these years are seldom correct as they will roll over at 100K and start again. A slow leak in the a/c could be as minor as an o-ring or could be an evaporator or condensor and either way requires recovering the refrigerant and recharging or more. You did not mention if it is Reg Cab or Supercab.

I say $1500 will kill it. Again, just an opinion based on the trucks I have bought and sold.
