1940 Ford P/u sway bar and drag link help

I put this on another thread but wanted all to see to get the most input.

I have a 40 Ford P/U with a 74 Nova front clip on it. The 40 is narrower than the 74 so the previous owner cut the sway bar and sleeved it and I think cut the drag link.

My question is how can I find replacements that are the correct size? Is there some kind of reference for sway bar lengths? or drag links? Any help will be appreciated.

It would help if you had pictures of what you were trying to do and also I would look at the boneyard for a 'smaller' setup used on other small cars that you could adapt the ideas to your situation. That would mean looking at the foreign car section of the yard. Using heim joints to make your setup is also in the realm of possibilities. Google "heim joints sway bars for 74 Nova suspension" and see what comes up.

See Points 20 and 21 of this installation on a 74 Nova front end.

Thanks for the inputs. Maybe I can expound upon this and make it clearer what my problem(s) are. The individual that put this truck together used a 74 Nova front clip. Everything on it is stock Nova. The problem comes with the drag link and the sway bar. Since the 40 is about 4 inches narrower then the Nova, he cut the sway bar in half, cut four inches out of it and welded a sleeve to hold the two cut ends together. I believe the drag link has the same treatment.

Now the TCI instructions won't work as i have standard A arms not tubular so the sway bar mounts differently. The heim joint idea is interesting but with the drag link problem. I might see if I can get new drag link fabricated that way.

I think the yard search is my only other option for a new sway bar. I figured that would be it but didn't want to start the long search. I appreciate the help but all those import suspension pages are confusing to me. I don't see how any of that would work. I have another thread documenting my 40 build. It's on here. I'm not sure it covers this issue but it might.
