New Industrial Chassis Dakota IFS

New Industrial Chassis Dakota IFS
My friend, Steve Szymanski, the owner of Industrial Chassis in Phoenix, is thinking of resurrecting the Dakota IFS kits he used to sell. When Steve and his partner split, a while back, the partner ended up with the tooling for the original kits. Steve has a running thread on his website blog to explain what he is thinking for the new kits, possibly bolt-in. He is wanting to get feed back from customers and potential customers. If you want to weigh in go here:
The re-introduction of the Dakota IFS kit : Industrial Chassis Inc.
Steve installed in my 48 F1 the last IC made Dakota IFS. Its a great suspension and everybody that I know who has one is very happy with the system and the workmanship.
Check out his blog and also his Facebook page where he has a couple of opinion posts up for more feedback.

Hey!! Tell Steve Mike from Bobco says hi!! Glad he's still around.
I always thought Steve had a winner with that frontend. You were swapping a suspension designed for a 1/2 ton into a 1/2 ton. I choke when I say this, but Dodge did a great job designing that frontend. The design of the suspension distributes the sway of the truck meaning you don't need a front sway bar. Most Dakota's don't have one from the factory. (IMHO you always run a front bar.) Big brakes and rack and pinion steering. It has the whole package. I installed several of his crossmembers years back at Bobco's. They were well designed crossmembers that looked great when installed. Plus dropped spindles are available for those frontends and with his kit you could really get the trucks low.
I hope he can get it going again. I would be interested to see a bolt in version. I don't see how he could do that with the cuts you have to make to the frame for the springs hats, but I'll bet he'll come up with something.
