Dang.. no bumpsides or dentsides.
Seems really high for just the cab and doors, but it is steel and new. I think there would be a market for our truck cabs and doors, just not sure about the 9K plus shipping/crating. The car prices make more sense since a nice Camero, Mustang, or Chevelle can be worth some bucks. Paying a price like that to build a truck that really isn't worth anything compared to a muscle car would be tough to justify.

I'll bet a lot of working people (farmers/ranchers, contractors) would pay decent money to buy a brand-new dent-side. They were built to work. They don't have all the electric-everything equipment that most people don't even want in a work rig. Sure, put a modern 5.4 V8 or a V10 in them, but keep everything as simple as possible, just like the original.

As for reproductions...how about HEADLINERS for Supercabs and Crew Cabs, Crew Cab rear door interior panels, and Crew Cab chrome? Another thing I'd like to have: Philco AM radios. (That last one might be showing my age. LOL)

WOW! If I was building mine as a show truck I would probably spring for a fiberglass cab. Since mine is a hunting and hauling truck though, I guess I got some rust to fix instead!

Not only that, but there are different types of housings. Which one would you like? Ford used integral P/S from 1965 thru 2002 in myriad Passenger Cars, Trucks, Bronco's, Econolines and SUV's.

The only things shared with all, are the input and sector shaft seals kits (same kits: 1965/2002).

Redheadsteeringgears.com takes the gearbox, machines the housing, installs the needle bearings on the sector shaft...that Ford left out...on purpose, so they could sell a gazillion seal kits.

Some of the parts y'all are asking to have reproduced would not be cost effective. The demand is slight, so no one would reproduce, since they would not be able to recoup their investment.

Y'all do not realize what the tooling costs alone would be for some of these parts, even if made in the Orient.

Confed Diesel: The 1961/72 In-Cab fuel tank is repopped by Blue Oval Truck Parts. DOTZ-9002-A (replaced C1TZ-9002-K). The only dif is the DOTZ tank has a 19 1/2 gallon capacity.

Aaron-71: You know what they say, doncha? Different strokes for different folks. You wanna drive old rolling piles of misery that have next to zero safety features, few creature comforts for DD's...

While others prefer something newer.

Funny that many of the parts people are asking about re-pops for are parts I have for sale for cheap in the classifieds and are NOT selling. Heck - if I can't sell a rust free cab for $50 (yes shipping is $$ - but it sure as heck won't reach $9k like that chebby cab) I don't know how any re-pops would sell.

I have an in cab gas tank in perfect shape for sale for $50 as well. My problem is shipping the thing. FedEx and UPS don't like shipping anything that once had fuel in it

X2 on the cab Chase. I've got a rust free one I've been trying to sell for months. I know if I needed one, I'd pay $200 for the one I have.........................I'm to the point, I'm about ready to just load it up on my next load of scrap. Just cant make myself do it though. I sold the bed off the same truck for $300 a few months back and it wasn't near as nice as the cab............And the guy came all the way out of Nevada to get it.

Exactly. The last 2-3 cabs (plus a couple my buddy had) have been CUT UP AND GIVEN TO SCRAP because we couldn't sell them - even when prices went down to $50. I've gone over it multiple times here...

Luckily on this last truck I know a guy with a rusty cab and I offered him this cab at $50 and he jumped on it. Actually he's ending up taking the truck at like 75% complete at a GREAT price. Now if I could just get someone to take the bed on it...

Lol, very wise words Bill.

This really makes me feel like singing the song "I'm still a guy" by Brad Paisley for driving one of these old dentsides.

Driving those BRAND NEW vehicles with all those safety features makes it seem like we're getting away from the basics. Now folks can crash into each other without worry, and it scares the hell outta me. It's almost like we're starting to trend towards "we're indestructable" lol.

Lol, Chase, we really need to set up a shipment to up here in the rust belt. Like I said, I'd have you sold out of whatever you could find within a months time! Lol!

We just gotta get this shipping stuff sorted out...

Love the Brad Paisley song - I quote it all the time when the girl wants me to put lotion on my "work hardened" hands - haha
I also think of it when around my trucks. Glad to know I'm not the only one scarred to death of cars that parallel park themselves. People are already loosing any ability to "control" their vehicle and truly drive the things and automakers are only making it worse!

And yes - find a long hual trucker who is dead heading back towards you from out here and we'll both get rich!

How many safety features do you think the automakers woulda installed if not mandated by the NHTSA? Next to none!

Everything beginning with safety glass (1928: windshields only) was mandated.

When the US Gov't (no NHTSA back then) mandated safety glass in windshields, it was suggested to all the automakers (at that time, there were over 40!) to use it throughout their vehicles.

How many automakers then replaced the dangerous plate glass with safety glass? Next to none! The US Gov't had to mandate it for all the windows circa 1936.

How many peeps were killed, maimed for life, injured due to plate glass windows? Gazillions.

Hahahaha! Too funny Bill, although very true!

If things weren't regulated in North America, we would get away with a lot of stuff. And yes, safety is a big issue when it comes to cars and their drivers, I can appreciate that fact.

But when it comes to the mindset of motorists, the automakers are letting our motorists ease up on how afraid they are to drive... I strongly believe that they need to remember the consequences that could affect their lives... which is exactly what all these safety features are getting away from.

Luckily, up where I live, we've got some great videos that are shown to almost EVERY motorist in the province...

Here's a clip for you guys to watch:

WorkHard_PlayHard

The coolest thing about the clip is that I know some of the people in it... The guy who pauses at his truck and locks it was my hockey coach in high school... It's just that much more influential when SGI uses people you know from your own city.

There are much more intense videos than this in our province about texting while driving which are seen in our theatres EVERY TIME before a movie starts.

I've been known to throw back a few now and than but I wil not drink and drive. I've seen what it can do to a persons' life once they get a DUI. NO THANKS. I know here in California, and those here can attest to it, the average by the time its all finished, is around $10,000, OR MORE. I have a couple friends that have gone through it, and it was not pleasant. Unfortunately, in one case, it led to a divorce. It destroyed him. Not sure he will ever get over it. He really loved his family, BUT, things happen.
I personally could not afford the $$$ cost.
