I wanted to make sure that a C6 that I could get a deal on will fit up to my 351W.

Does anyone know if a 289/200 66 stang engine's tranny will fit up to my 351W?

200/289 engines are the only two options for a 66 stang, so it SHOULD have the same bellhousing pattern as my 351, but I wanted to make sure.

Any suggestions/advice?

 

afaik the 289/302/351W all have the same bell housing.

I have a '68 Mustang myself, and lots actually take that 200 I6 out and swap a 302 in it's place...but that tranny just won't hold up. SO, I'd probably say the 200 I6 has the same bell housing, too.

 

concur... In my 68 Stang, I removed the smoky 289 and reinstalled a cheap but freshly rebuilt 200 in its place. It bolted to the same C4.

However, I recall there as a large pattern and small pattern (small block) C6.
