Converting to diesel from 460 gas

I'm going to convert to diesel and I'm trying to get all the things I need in order so I'm not hunting parts at the last second, Its going to be a mechanical P-pumped motor so I'm thinking I need to get IDI sending units and tank switch, run new diesel fuel lines, I'm eliminating all of the vapor canisters, and everything so I think I just need to run brake lines, fuel lines and the wiring harness down the frame to the motor/cab. Anything I missed? Thanks.

Really? Under diesel compression a 460 would fold like a cheap tent in a hurricane.

My brother and I are both considering this swap as well. Underneath my truck (1990 F350 with a 460), however, I noticed that the driver's side bracket which ties the frame rail to the front crossmember has "gasoline" (or similar verbage) stamped on it, and this bracket is riveted to the frame.

Can anybody comment on the need to swap this piece out for one from a diesel-engined truck? I don't know what the difference is, could be engine mount hole locations, or possibly the diesel pieces are thicker to cope with the additional weight and engine vibration.

The Destroked site starts with a diesel truck, I'm starting with a gas truck so fuel-lines etc. need to be changed.

to be honest, i would just start improvising. buy some cheap 3/8 fuel hose from auto part store, or off the internet. buy enough to run up and down the frame twice. your fuel pump (and pressure needed) will depend on which motor you go with. most likely, your easiest option would be to run an in-line pump and abandon everything in the tank.

No. they have adapters from gas trucks too, you just have to look harder. You could also go to fordcummins.com - Increase Horsepower with Ford Cummins Diesel conversion kits and pay more than you should
