replace door lock

Anyone have a guide for replacing the drivers door lock on a 1997 F350?

Sorry I am new here and if I am doing something wrong or need to look someplace else please let me know.

Thanks!

Jay

i'm not sure if 97 was the same way, but on trucks up to 96, you look at the rear edge of the open door, notice that rust-colored piece at the same height as the door lock, pull it straight to the rear with a pair of pliers, then the lock will fall out in your hand, unclip the linkage from the back of the lock, and install new one.
it really is that simple.
if you don't have that tab to pull on, you likely have a similar setup except with the clip inside the door, for which you remove teh inside door panel, reach in there till you find the back of the lock, and R&I in a similar way

Your '97 F350 will have the clip that holds the lock assembly in the door jam.
