You can get one directly from banks. Just call them up and talk to the guys for replacement parts. It might be kinda pricey that way but it wont give you trouble for a long long time. Just curious, how many miles on it??

I was at truck and jeep fest last weekend and I talked to the banks booth and they said they stopped production, they just still have the down pipes. This guy could be wrong but that's what he told me

Well thats possible, call them and ask if "Tom" is still there in sales or engineering. Hypermax sells them. You can contact them, or risking sounding like a parrot, Swamps Diesel had them for the IDI.

I was unaware they stopped production, its very possible. You just need the cold side of it, the turbine housing shouldn't need to be replaced. The turbo kits for the chevy 6.2s had the exact turbo so you could ask for that also.

What's wrong with your old one? It's a Mitsubishi turbo and any turbo shop can rebuild it. Bearing/seal kits are on e-bay all the time for the do-it yourselfer.

banks stopped production of turbo kits, you can still get parts like the impeller rebuild kits the last time i called.
web site: Banks Power | Diesel Performance and Gas Performance Products
phone # 1-800-601-8072
call, and ask for tech dept. they will be able to help you get the part numbers you need, then transfer you to parts so you can order the rebuild kit.

the early non wastegated kits were also called sidewinder turbos.
big air filted box that covers most of the top of the engine is non wastegated. small air filter is wastegated.

Oh ok, I gotcha. The name for the turbo came from where it sat on the engine so the engineers called it the sidewinder(from what I read). So I wasn't sure how the early turbo was plumbed. Judging from the placement of the ATS turbo - that should be called the sidewinder, lol.
