2150 interchange

i have a f-350 drw that has a 351 m motor in it.
i am not sure of the year of the motor.
it has the stock 2bbl intake on the motor and a adapter for a 1405 edlebrock carb.
i want to go back to a 2150 2bbl
none of the trucks that i have seen in the junkyard with the 351modified have a carb on them.
they did have the spacer between the carb and the manifold,
i did find a few 351 w and a few 302 with good carbs.

will the carb from a 351 w fit the 351m and the spacer?
the base gaskets look the same, and the only differance i can see is the egr port.
on the 351m the port is on the passenger side rear and on the 351 w its on the drivers side.

the spacer actually has the port on it on the 351m and both carbs use the same base gasket.

I'm not sure how much you're looking to spend, but you can still get those carbs from your local auto parts store or LMC. I think the 2150 is about $259 from O'reily, with about a $50 dollar core, and are about the same price though LMC, when you count shipping.

i tried to match the numbers from the 351 w and 351m but the part # are differant.
not sure if its a fitmant jet sise or just vacuum line changes for the emmisions.

the part # for the carb gaskets are the saME THOUGH

I'm pretty sure they are interchangable. Not certain though. Someone with a little more exp. with those engines should replay soon.

2150 introduced 1975. All 1975/79: 302/351M/400's installed in F100/350's & Bronco's will have one. Ditto 1975/79 351W's & 1979 302's installed in Econolines.

All 1975/76 and some 1977/79 302/351M/351W/400 Passenger Cars will also have a 2150, but...some 1977/79 Passenger Cars came with awful VV (Variable Venturi) carbs, which looks totally different than a 2150.

The EGR/Carb spacer plate used on 351W's is not the same as the 351M/400 and...there are several different versions of each.

The original factory installed spacer plates were aluminum, heat caused them to melt internally! The FoMoCo service part replacement spacer plates were cast iron and look different than the aluminum plates.

The carb to spacer gasket is much thicker than the spacer to manifold gasket. The 351W gaskets may/may not be the same as the 351M/400 gaskets.

D7FZ-9C477-A .. Carburetor to Spacer Gasket (Motorcraft CG-473)

Fits: 1977/79 302/351M/351W/400 and 2.3L 4 bangers installed in Pinto/Bobcat/Mustang/Capri.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D7AZ-9447-A .. Spacer to Manifold Gasket (Motorcraft CG-488)

Fits: 1977/79 351M/400.
------------------------
E5SZ-9447-A .. Spacer to Manifold Gasket (Motorcraft CG-479-A)

Fits: 1977/79 302/351W / Misc 1980's 302/351W's.

Note: 1962/74's came with 2100 series carbs. Many of the internal parts are different than the 2150's, so the carb kits are not the same, and...

While the same carb kit (D4AZ-9A586-A) fits ALL 2100 series carbs...there are FIVE different carb kits for 1975/79 2150's.
