Intake Manifold Info?

I'm looking at buying an intake manifold for my 03 6.0L. And thinking of going the CFM+ smallmouth model. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated on that model or any brand manifolds for that matter? Thanks!

Looks like a waste of money to me. Do you have other mods on your truck so that it can use more air? Common wisdom says that the stock intake, including the elbow, supplies all the air a stock 6.0 can use.

Plus I don't trust a company that doesn't know the definition of a "manifold". That thing is a power elbow, not an intake and not a manifold.

On the plus side, I am sure the red one looks fast.

Yeah, you will get ZERO performance improvements from it, only the bling factor.

Just like buying a cold air intake (because company claim hp increases) most people do not know that the stock air filter will provide enough air up to 500 rear wheel hp! and filter a heck of allot better. But the chrome intake pipe makes the truck faster

Guys have powder coated their stock elbow, as well as the other boost ducts. It looks nice and is a lot cheaper. Opinions vary on how much performance boost is gained.

No offense meant to the OP. It is easy to believe the marketing claims. That's why it is smart to run these things past the forum for opinions. Which is exactly what you did.

Another option, to improve airflow a little, is to swap to an '05+ elbow and eliminate the unused EGR throttle body below the '03 elbow. Some people have polished the '05+ elbows and they look pretty good.

Wow, I had no idea about those things. Looks like I will be redirecting my funds elsewhere. Thanks again!
