7.3 ENGINE TEMP SENSOR

The engine temp light comes on as soon as i turn my key to the on position and when i had it in at the dealership they said it was reading 260 at the start. where is this sensor located at?

I don't see it here:

or here: 97-15A 7.3L DI Turbo Workshop Manual
sounds like a dead short/CLOSED or a wide OPEN circuit (wires)

Are the same part numbers used for both sensors or are they different part numbers? I’m having trouble finding a clear answer. I already have a gauge sensor. I need to add the light sensor.

i dont have that on my 95, maybe it s a 96 and up thing

It’s a manual transmission thing. I don’t know when it started.

Must be a 96+ thing then. I think I found the right one for the timing cover. Looks like Ford doesn’t make them anymore.
