Any pointers in removing MAF for cleaning?
Bought a can of the gray CRC MAF cleaner the other day. Looking at the sensor on the duct and was wondering if there is a good way to take it out? It's on the underside of the duct, so it looks tricky. Have to get a step ladder to get a better angle.
Just wondering if there was any suggestions from others that have done it. Thanks.

Unplug the sensor from the harness. Remove the end bell of the air cleaner completely. Unsnap the faceplate to get the the sensor housing, unplug the sensor from the harness and remove the housing with the sensor in it.
At this point you can actually get to most of the sensor from there, I took the extra step of actually removing the sensor from the housing (2 torx screws). Be careful as you pull it out and whatever you do DO NOT touch the wires. Spray it off really well, let it dry, then reassemble it.
It's about a 10 minute job (actually took longer for me to type this)

I pulled mine completely out also. Unplug (my MAF has a slide back red clip under the plug and then squeeze the top and bottom of the plug at the same time to unplug it) and remove torx screws as stated above. I pulled off total air intake to remove MAF and also cleaned the throttle plates at the same time.

When I removed the sensor from the housing, one of the brass inserts turned in the plastic and had to come out with the sensor. A little Crazy Glue and it was fixed, but just be careful. If you can't get the anti-tamper Torx screws out easily, just clean it while it's in the housing.
The wires aren't THAT fragile, they are coated in glass, so if there's any stubborn dirt, a q-tip can be a good thing.
