MY 6.7 Diesel NIGHTMARE

Sounds like your tranny issues combined with your climate temperature are making for the poor mileage. I can't help you with the weather but I have one idea you can try for the tranny - unfortunately it means going back to the dealer but before giving up here is a suggestion:
1. Go to the dealer and ask them to reset your TCM and PCM to "adaptive learning mode".
2. Do not allow your dealer to then go test drive the transmission.
3. Now go do some mixed highway and city driving as you would normally. Don't excessively idle at start-up i.e. don't use your remote start.
By doing this, you will allow the TCM to relearn your driving tendencies and adjust shift points more suitable to your driving style.
The problems you are experiencing may be a result of the TCM learning how the "dealer" test drives your truck each time they reflash your TCM rather than you fully.
Give it a shot and see if it helps.

If you are loosing PCM power, the KAM will reset each time you start the truck. It will always be "learning" trans shift points, and "learning" driveability strategies. I believe I'd be looking for poor connections at PCM connectors, chafed or partially broken wires, or smart junction box issues. That would explain literally all of your symptoms.

For that much in town driving, I think 12 MPG seems rather reasonable.

The 2011 6.7 is a nightmare...
We bought a 2011 Lariat F350 in sept of 2010...Things were OK, but I also have heard that horrible crash in the 4x4 system and two weeks ago the Urea sensor shut my truck down... The dealer can't fix the sensor as Ford has Frozen that part! So for two weeks I'm waiting, without my truck, no one is offering to make the payments, no one calls me with updates, no one gives a furry rat's bum about it. Too bad, you just have to be patient. They just take your 70 some odd thousands of dollars and leave you walking. Not impressed...

I have read here on this web sit that you can go back to the training mode by disconnecting the battery for a while then reconnect it.. I'd leave it disconnected for a hour or so to discharge the computer.. I have a F-250 6.7 and love the fuel ENCO 3.31 rear end highway 22-24, no hills, no load and 65mph... 15-18 light town driving

jbg,
good for you. Ford Corp engineering should have stepped up to the plate and sent a field engineer out to your dealership to go over the truck and train the dealer tech how to fix them or pulled the dealer's diesel sales and service Corp authorization.
must have been a bunch of those drunk auto workers on the line the day your Big Lemon was built
Ford Corp is sent to the lockers for this one.
good luck with the new one.
