88 f150 tranny questions....desperate!

OUT OF WORK TILL I GET ER FIXED!
well took it muddin n got water n the dist. didnt know at the time, so we pulled it home bout 10 miles in neutral...did not take driveline out.
it will go into all gears its aod = P R N (D) D 1
but will not shift out of first...not manually, not at all
my linkage is good, and cable off throttlebody is good...it has 2 speed sensors on it.
Ive just heard so many different things idk where to start...btw FIXED BUDGET ;lol
or does anybody know what all trannys are interchangeable?...any bit of info is greatly apprecited.

the speed sensor on the trranny might be bad and not showing that the rpms are increasing therefore not telling the tranny to shift. its about 15 bucks at the LPS. What motor do you have?

Muddin with your work truck was not very wise haha

Male sure the fluid level is correct and a good color and smell.

302,i can shift down from d-1 and will feel it kick into 1st so idk. someone told me it would be a governer belt?...or something INside the tranny, anything sound familiar? sensors are good, checked voltage with meter.

Yeah and i knew better myself, lol but ya know how it is watchin the ole lady giggle n carry on.

ohhhhh!!!!... whoooooooooo!!! lets do it again..
