Where do you direct your speech? At the transmission lever or above the visor? That's where I see the only vents.

 

pretty sure it is the visor vent you speak of. superduty trucks have had that vent in the dash by the shifter for a long time, I thought my dads had a little tab on it that said mic when he got it, could be wrong though.

 

The mic is in the headliner by the sun visor. I just speak normally and it seems to work very well. Nobody realizes that I'm on hands free when I'm talking to them.

 

I have an 09 and I believe the mic is in the top part of the rear view mirror.

 

The 2011 have the mic in the headliner right above your head in front of the visor. Just speak normal and you should be fine. I asked a few people how I sound and they said they could not tell I was on a hands free device.
