How do u take the wiper cowl off of a 95 f150? I have the 5 bolts on top out, the ones facing forward under the hood, the antenna and the fluid squirters. But it still seems like its stuck on something. Whats the trick to it?
Just finished replacing my wiper motor, so it's still fresh in my mind. The screws are located in 2 locations - a set would be facing the engine compartment and a set would be facing upwards towards the sky. So, find these screws securing the cowl. Also, your wiper arms as mentioned before, do need to come out. Unscrew your antenna and pop out the chrome casing of the antenna base. Now move the cowl forward to get the lip off the windshield chrome casing - carefully because you could scratch your paint....but by just shifting the cowl, it will come off the lip around the windshield casing. Gently move the cowl in the opposite direction (after you've ensured that the cowl is out of the windshield casing) and try to move the whole unit off the wiper stubs. This is the hard part. Once you do that, you can remove the washer tubes etc. You might have to do some minor bending of the cowl, but be careful. Hope this helps.
On the wiper arms there are little "Keepers" that you need a small 1 way screwdriver to hold them out while the whole arm slides off....The keepers are literally shaped like a D....
On my 1993 I end up taking the hood off. I cound not get the cowl out
without scratching the paint and bending it. If you take the hood off make sure you mark the hood to hood hinges before loosen the bolts.
That does help. Do the blades need to come off or the whole thing? And if so how do those come off? Ive got everything off but those
Yes, the whole arm of the wiper needs to come off. As mentioned by others, there is a "keeper" that you simply slide over in one direction. Use a flat head screw driver and try to start the sliding movement. Once you this "keeper" is slid sideways (note, it does not slide and come off, it's just a short slide one way), it will allow you to move the wiper arm to pivot 90 degrees upward because the "keeper" is no longer blocking the arm from moving. Now, you can gently pull the arm out of the stub.
