Something new for the F150?

I'd like to treat the F150 to... something. Don't need anything, its just fine as is. But that is no fun. Use is 99.9% commuter with a little fire trail two tracking. Has leveling kit, nice tires, Eaton posi, nice stereo headunit, stock headlights are working well for me. Stereo actually sounds pretty good on stock speakers and aftermarket Alpine headunit. Could use some more power after the bigger tires but that can cost money. I did throw some LED foglamps in off Amazon that are pretty kick'n.

I'd like to treat myself to a little upgrade somewhere but I can't really think of anything little that could really be a benefit. Any suggestions?

Throw you a tuner on it. Best bang for your buck, as far as performance mods go. I've gained more power and slightly better mpgs with my 5 Star Tuning. It will gain back what you lost with the taller tires.

I'd really liker to put a tuner on my 2013, but there's still quite a bit of extended warranty that I paid for. I've heard that adding a tuner "Could" void that warranty.

I've had my tuner since before its first oil change. I am actually not concerned so much with the warranty. I didn't purchase any extended warranties on my truck. I am confident that my tunes have no ill effects and I try to stay conservative. If something does fail, I will improve on the failure point. To me, being pressed to buy an extended warranty is a lack of confidence in the product. Not everyone is a mechanic and can do their own work, but that is my vocation. I quickly get irritated when salesmen try to push warranties on me. They don't my skill level when I am making my purchase, but I am quick to point it out.

Humm... "something" you say? Well if you want something that will fix an annoyance of these trucks without breaking the bank, I'd do new door detents from Northlight Labs. I have a set and love them. They allow a middle detent to prrevent the door from swinging full open and hitting the car next to you. Cost is $90

I'd link to my thread which had pics, but due to photobucket restricting 3rd party hosting, it won't help much...

Thanks Robb, my wife has been complaining about this very issue. I knew that there was an aftermarket fix, but could not remember who made them.

No problem, install was a bit of a pain on the passenger side. Looked like a fishercat attacked my arm with all the scratches when I was done. I will PM you my photobucket URL when I get home (on mobile now) I have some install pics there.

let me know if you have any issues during install, always happy to help out if I can.

Thanks and they will be on the list but I may not get to them until the spring. I have a foot in a cast so getting into crazy positions to work under a dash is not in the cards right now.

How about a Peragon bed cover. I have one on my truck and I love it. It's made of aluminum and is locking to keep items secure in your truck bed. And it's USA made and is a site sponsor.

leds in reflectors

Anybody else have distance/throw issues with an led in a reflector housing? Lights work and all, just don't throw very far. The high beams with the leds work, but the difference is almost nonexistent. Wondering if it's just the leds I had or leds in general.

I swapped to HIDs for a bit, and they threw a lot farther, but weren't as bright. Thinking of swapping to 55w HIDs vs the 35 I had.
