Which would mean if he has ordered a my2011 it isn't going to be built...
That is my guess, they do not usually carry over orders into a new build year because of changes in options etc. They get removed from the order bank and need to be resubmitted. I would be talking to my dealer. They should know this stuff.

Talked to dealer...still insist Truck is to be built as of right now...They asked their regional sales rep..and I called the Ford Customer service line...Gave the order number and dealer number...still no build date, but they insisted there were no problems with order...Regional rep state at times they do build pervious MY and current MY side by side on the line to fill orders for a month or so.....Guess I'll find out in the next couple weeks!

Super08 - Also have my mechanic who gave me estimate to regear if I don't like for between a 1000 to 1500 bucks. Since the package I want in the new truck is 1000 more, and the rebates are 1500 less......comes out to be at least $2500 more on a 2012 MY, or heck with it, with the amount of 2011 Diesels left on the lots, I think they'll be upping those rebates pretty quick, even though they are already $4500, I wouldn't be surprised to see them go up even more....then I can pulll whatever with whatever gears...!

Which Superduy Forum should I inquire on? - 2 posts ago...

Thanks,
Chris

HELP! What to DO??

O.k. Given the following towing situations what would you guys do?

5th Wheel Dry Weight 6500 - So Loaded Between 7-8000 pounds

When I triple tow, never more than 2-3 hours away from home I tow a boat behind weighing between 3500-4000 pounds.

So total Towing between 11000 - 12000 pounds sometimes, but the majority is pulling 7-8000 pounds!

Long story short, I tried to order 4.30 gearing....Truck never got made...

A 2012MY build equivalent truck is currently $3500 more, from price hikes and incentives are less....blah blah.

I do pull the Camper out in the mountains about every other year...and am considering pulling the trigger this week on a 2011 XLT loaded up with 3.73 gearing. Mind you Im trading in my 2005 6.0 Diesel. And I'll probably be tuning the new truck via 5 Star.

Will I be satisfied pulling my camper with the 3.73 gearing? I just don't wanna buy a 40K truck and not be happy with it....Guess I can always regear if not happy for a heck of alot less thatn $3500 ....what ya think...

Of course if the 6.7 Diesel Incentives go up anymore I might be inclined to pull the trigger on one of those as well....but I don't think they'll be going up as they are currently at $4500.

Thoughts, advice anything is welcome!!
Thanks,

Chris

Keep your present truck and keep hauling. Considering your weighs, pulling triple, hill, and dollars I'd keep the diesel.
If it is paid for you will be better off. I have always had 3.73 with both diesel and gas engines and think it is a good ratio. 4.30 will get you more torqe but less mpg.

Stay cool

Chris,
If your normal tow is 7 to 8K I would not hesitate to go with the 3:73 rear. The mountains might be a bit more of a challenge for it but I think it would still do ok. If you had the choice I would order the higher rear just in case you decided to buy a bigger rig in the near future. I tow 12K and would buy the 4:30 rear and I don't think the gas mileage difference between the two, would be enough to worry about. But that is just my opinion for what it's worth. Good luck with your decision.

Talking f350 sd crew/dully

well let me tell who ever wants to know , just how good the 6.2 really is!
i had a 99,7.3 new, a 03 6.8 new and either one won't come close to pulling as good as the 6.2
i pull a 53' gooseneck enclosed, with 2 race cars and max at 23,500 pds.
this WONDERFUL 2011 f350 is nothing short of spectacular!!!
bought it new, had 100 miles on it, drove it 350mi. and got 15.5 actual.
at 550 miles hooked on to my trailer loaded went to florida got 9.0 came home empty and got 9.6
went to detorit woodward cruise, no trailer, got 16.5
came back to iowa got 17 with cruise on.
im telling any one that wants a work horse and good fuel milage this is the HOT set up.
2 wheel drive, 6speed auto, and 373 rear axle.
i am alittle heavy for a 373, but i think the milage will only get better with more miles.
oh ,also pulling mt. egle, tn. topped it going east, 55miles per hour.
never came close with the7.3 or 6.8
this is a great truck.

Have 3.73 rear gearing. I pull a Keystone Passport 28' camper and a 2-place snobile trailer with sleds. With either one, it's hard to believe I'm towing anything behind. Guess, my truck is a bit over kill but that's the way I like it.

Very nice Dave. I love the color of it too. The back end, is that an outdoor kitchenette or something?

larriveeman use a hosting site like photobucket or something and then link to your pictures.

I you add "" It will post the picture instead of a link. Just remove the "" to make it work. BTW it looks great.
