460 and an AOD? Ultra-Bell?

.

I want to use an Ultra-Bell to mate an AOD to my 460. Where do I get a torque converter? And how much should I expect it to be?

That's an adaptor?

These folks sell TC's.

You need a beefed AOD and a light vehicle, or you are in for an unpleasant surprise methinks.

It's sort of an adapter. I have to cut the current small block bellhousing off the transmission with a sawz-all and a grinder, then the Ultra-Bell bolts to the pump. I'm thinking I need to get a custom made converter, so I'm looking for a reputable and affordable place.

The second link in my prior post sells adaptors. $800, but includes starter etc. FWIW I'd rather do that than cut the trans case and hope it's square etc.

Lentech makes similar adapters for $500, but are 5/8" thick instead of 3/8" like most others... but he won't be turnin any out for a few months yet. The cutting on the bellhousing doesn't need to be very precision since the new bellhousing doesn't mount to my cut edge. There is actually a gap between where I cut and the new bellhousing.

I would prefer the Ultra-Bell, but money decides more things for me than it should. The adapter kit is $500, whereas the Bell is $360 plus a new converter... so it really depends on how expensive this converter is.
