Hi,

i am looking to get a tuner for my truck ('08 F350, 5.4L), and have narrowed my search down to the Diablo Predator and the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT. I read most good things about both, but I would like an honest opinion from a member here if you have any experience.

I read somewhere that the BD does not handle any post-install modifications made to your truck (e.g. headers, CAI, and exhaust), but find that hard to believe.

Any insight on this is greatly appreciated. Personally i am leaning towards the BD because it looks sharp, and has a real time monitor of my truck's performance.

If you want a real tuner, see Mike @ 5-star tuning. Around these Forums, he is the 5.4L tuning Guru.

If you really want just an off the shelf tuner, I like the Edge Evolution better than the diablo or the BD.

 

thanks, and actually in my search between my post and your reply, i found him on another thread (highly recommended). i sent an email to him and am awaiting a reply.

i hear custom tuning is the way to go; and i do hear some horror stories about off-the-shelf tuners...so you can imagine im very hesitant.

just talked to mike, and goin with the SCT X3 tuner...so that problem is solved...will i notice any difference in sound after the tuner is installed (even the slightest)?
