I never noticed that before and I always purchase my filters from them. But I purchase the Racor PFL2016 oil filters. Racor make them for Motorcraft they just don't come in a motorcraft box and are 4-5 dollars cheaper. Been using them for about 3 years now with no problems.

All I can see is the Ford part# is different. Instead of AA at the end, it has AB.

Strange. Maybe something new?

I understand that..Maybe someone that know will chime in..Or give them a call. The only thing I can think of is there was some kind of change to the filter and the update the part number

I read the specs, and the "w" indicates it's the same as the other.
A user review says they are also the same.
Then why list them @ different prices?

"Maybe" 1 is in a box vs loose?

W means white box I believe. These are the oem packaging that dealerships use instead of the colorful Motorcraft packaging. So they are similar to the Racor filter boxes, which is what I use.

I would guess and say the fl 2016 W is a Fram boxed filter, the $1 difference between the 2 are just like Walmart prices their Motorcraft/Fram 6.0 oil filters. Both are made by Racor.

FL2016W

the 'W' was for Wal-Mart. Same exact filter as the AA non 'W' filters but Ford packed them 6 to a case instead of the normal 12 to a case specific for Wal-mart. We don't have any more of the 'w' in stock.
