I have a vibration noise from the tranny at about 55-60mph
no one can seem to find the problem, any ideas?

Have a shop jack your truck up on all four wheels, start it and put the truck in Low gear. examine the driveshaft closely to see if it is spinning in a perfect circle especially near the rear of the shaft where it bolts to U-joint near the rear end. I just had mine in the shop yesterday, and this was the cause of my vibration at 65 mph.

The shop I used got it as close as they could using a chalk trial and error method. It almost did away with my vibration but it changed the vibration from the 65 mph range to 54 mph.

I wish I could find out how to make the driveshaft and the U-joint fit perfectly together where the joint and shaft spin in a perfect circle. That would fix my problem anyway.

Does anyone how to do this?

Why would there be enough play in the bolt holes that connect the drive shaft and the U-joint/yoke that would allow connection of these two peices without spinning in a perfect circle? Bad design?

I'd check the carrier bearing to see if there is an issue, but we do need to know the truck info.

I have a new-to-me '08 F250 with the same thing. Had it at the dealer yesterday for something else and asked them to check it out. While they hear/feel the it, they can't find anything wrong and don't think it's an issue.

Mine is a very slight vibration, more like a hum, you can hear and feel in the gas pedal while "under load". If I let off the pedal at the speed, it goes away.
