I'll give you a bump but I don't know any thing about them.

I like the idea behind them, but I would still run a full flow with it and run the centrifuge as a bypass filter.

That is how they work William. They are a bypass filter.

I had toyed with the idea but the biggest problem is location to be able to drain properly. There is precious room in the in engine compartment to mount most of the units. I opted to just put a standard bypass filter in instead since it can be mounted anywhere you can run lines to. Even like a Spinner II with air assist drain it would be very difficult versus a standard bypass filter.

say tjbeggs:

Exactly where I am at - moteur is out, getting top end refreshed and frame stripped /painted - so not sure best mount location - I did pull an oil fill pipe/tube from a van - thinking the bend would be good to tap/mount to rear sump pan -

use the blocked oil feed from drivers side rear moteur across from oil pressure sender - was hoping someone had already plumbed one so I could tap and final top coat the sump pan

Have seen on Duramax sites - these are plumbed into front moteur on top of oil fill pipe and tapping in additional oil fill

may keep thinking as i reassemble moteur - hard to visualize on a stripped down block

There are two places I can think of that might be a suitable mounting spot to put a Centrifuge oil filter. Both on the drivers side. I assume your truck is left hand drive but not sure what country you live in. one is at the front of the motor compartment between the battery and radiator. The second is the at the rear corner between the brake booster and the IDM. There is a spot you might be able to squeeze it in bolted to the firewall. Then if you could route the hose down near the oil filter there is a plug there (3/8 pipe, little small but might work) that will dump the oil right back into the crankcase. There is also a pressure port there you could get your pressure feed from to go up to the unit.

Hey Tim, can you post up or send me the picture of where to put the bypass in for our trucks?

It's a bit of a drive for me to come over and look.
Fuel prices and all for a 2 hour drive.

Oh. I said bypass, because some people I've talked to think its a direct replacement for a full flow filter.
The way I've seen them advertised at times almost suggests that as well.

My wording was poor on it.

My appologies.

Say tjbeggs:

yup - my rig is left hand drive -

I agree on drivers side mount and drain - my moteur is 7.3 idi - I came here to post thinking some PSD mates are plentiful , keen on mods .

I think to stick to gravity drain - so 7/8" to 1" drain tube /pipe for me

the first option you mentioned - hmmmm .. dunno - the oil feed from rear moteur would be more tube floating about - I hope to utilize a metal drain tube into sump pan - rear off firewall might be best option to isolate from vibration

my progress will be slow on this as I think best option is re- assemble motuer and figure out right before I marry tranny /transfer to moteur

front clip is completely off and front frame exposed - brake booster and steering box also removed -

cheers:

You could relocate batteries to make room for it

say muktown :

had a mate burning WVO with a RACOR bypass system went this way - I would but for vibration and too long a hose - trying to keep it as close to moteur - remember the drain is gravity with min. i.d .86 inch

Say Mates :

Ok - yanked moteur and sitting on garage floor - clean and paint block before reinstall - i see on the oil cooler - rear/ filter header there is a plug - with 3/8" recessed head - wondering why is there ?

and if this would be a decent place to get oil supply for centrifuge - as to the tapped oil galley at back block just below oil pressure sending is

got fotos - gonna try and figure how to post 'em

cheers:
